Firstrade uses the current Internet security standard known as Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption. In essence, the use of this standard ensures that what you type into your computer and the responses returned to you are protected by the highest possible security protocols.
To access our account holder services you will need a web browser that is capable of interpreting SSL. Most browsers meet this requirement. Once you've made a connection to Firstrade using a compatible web browser, you can check for a secure connection by looking at the small symbols displayed on the browser's status bar. Here, you will see a picture of either a key or a padlock. If the key is unbroken or the padlock is locked, a secure connection has been made.
