NEW Security Feature: Device Monitoring

Information regarding the new Device Monitoring feature and account security.

Updated over a week ago

Device monitoring helps you keep track of all the devices used to access your Firstrade account through a web browser—whether by phone, tablet, or computer. We recommend reviewing this list regularly and removing any devices you no longer use or any unknown devices. Currently, this does not include logins from the mobile app. You’ll receive an email notification any time a successful login occurs from a new device.

Manage Devices

  1. On our website, click AccountsProfileLogin & Security

  2. Scroll to the bottom left to find Manage Devices

  3. Review each device’s information

  4. To sign a device out of your account, select Remove device

After a device is removed, authentication will be required next time when attempting to log in from that device.

Note: This feature is not available on the mobile app currently.

Suspicious Activity

If you notice any login activity that is not recognized or authorized—or suspect your account may have been compromised—please update your password and contact us immediately. Keep in mind that the device location shown is approximate.

Note: The location listed may not reflect your exact physical location if:

  • you’re connected to a mobile network or using a VPN

  • you’ve shared your login credentials or were targeted by a scam (such as phishing)

How do I sign in to a new device?

When signing in to your Firstrade account from a new device, we’ll verify your identity using the authentication settings you’ve enabled. To better protect your account, we strongly recommend enabling an authentication app for two-factor authentication (2FA). It’s a very effective way to prevent unauthorized access.

For more information, see Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) to help keep your account secure.
