Add an additional layer of security to your account with two-factor authentication (2FA). When you sign in to your Firstrade account, you'll enter your password and an authentication code generated on your device.

Using an Authentication App

We recommend using an authentication app like Authy or Google Authenticator. Before you can enable 2FA, download an authentication app. Here are a few we support:

Logging in with 2FA

After you enter your username and password, you will be prompted for a 6-digit authentication code. Open your authentication app and note the code it creates for Firstrade. Enter the code in the Firstrade mobile app or website to finish signing in.

Note: It is important to keep in mind the timing of the code generated in your authentication app. A new code is generated every minute and you will need to enter that code when signing in within that timeframe.

Using Your Backup Code

If you ever lose access to your phone, you can use your one-time backup recovery code to log into your Firstrade account. Note that using your backup code will automatically disable 2FA and you’ll need to enable it again after you’re back into your account.

Lost your backup code?

You can access your account by resetting your credentials and disabling two-factor authentication. Reset credentials
